Non -Profit:

The Vernacular Articles

The Vernacular Articles are free publications in various African languages targeted at specific audiences within particular regions with the intention of introducing communications which effectively convey our message by means of printing in local languages. We hope to spread an awareness on the different topical issues we research that may have a direct relationship to the people's economic, social and environmental development.

These articles are paramount to us achieving our goals since we believe that education and communication is key. We believe that in order to initiate any practical reforms in the way communities utilize their resources we need to ensure that the theoretical information is accessible and relevant. Our aim is to reach our audience by publishing articles that take a diversified form and approach, making them not only an avenue for spreading awareness but a medium to promote resourcefulness in a green and eco-friendly way as all material is printed on recycled paper.

Rescue Society

Rescue Society is an online blog with day to day updates on some of the projects Rescue 53 are engaged in. It is also an outlet for free interaction that provides readers, writers and bloggers the opportunity to communicate in open discussions and share information on issues around the world affecting resources in Africa.

Our aim is to provide a platform that allows a free exchange of information and ideas with the hope that this will highlight and forecast the trends in which natural resource markets are moving towards and assist us in advocating the right forms of natural resource management etc.

We also hope the forums give insight to the readers and contributors on the challenges that the continent of Africa faces as climate change becomes a major concern on a global scale.

Inside Philanthropy & Investments

Inside Philanthropy & Investments is a publication taking a closer look at the conflicting issues behind foreign aid and investment in Africa. We explore and share ideas on the roles the ordinary man can play to help make a difference in society without necessarily making monetary contributions or donations or providing temporary aid or short-term relief and focusing more on implementing long term solutions.

Here we analyse the effects and effectiveness of funding given directly to governments, NGO's and other bodies that receive both regional or international support. We then demonstrate the ways in which these forms of aid can perhaps be substituted by forms of investment like mico-financing to promote growth within small scale businesses and SME's etc, also underlining the long-term impact on the larger corporations by focusing on the benefits like job creation, market and infrastructural development among many others. We believe Africa with the right types of investment coupled with a new approach to philanthropic activities can be self-sustainable.

In a continent where natural resources are abundant, Africa has a chance to prove it is far from a case of charity. These and other related issues will be addressed in the free publication.
